Vishy Mahadevan is Emeritus Professor of Surgical Anatomy at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and is a legend among surgeons in the UK for his passion and energy for human anatomy. Until his recent retirement, he led the postgraduate Anatomy teaching program at the College for over 20 years.
He is a long-standing member of the Court of Examiners of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and holds an honorary affiliation to the Academic Division of Surgery at University College London. A general surgeon and research scientist by background,
Prof Vishy has written extensively on various aspects of surgical anatomy, and has lectured worldwide. He is coauthor
of Clinical Anatomy and a Section Editor of Gray's Anatomy.
Prof Vishy has vast experience of teaching human anatomy spanning a period of nearly three decades, and over the years has developed a unique, flamboyant style that has inspired generations of surgeons.
