Submit Your Presentations in Advance
Due to the ban on USB drives due to potential viruses and network security issues, all presentations must be submitted in advance. Presentations should be sent to our Pro Wetransfer account by 10 May 2026. You do not need to set up an account to send your files - simply drag and drop them.
Presentations will be played from the AV booth on a designated Venue Apple Mac.
Sending your presentations in advance will also allow AV to check for any technical issues where possible.
Both Keynote and PowerPoint presentation types are acceptable.
New Lectern For Our 2026 Event
The Wellcome Collection has upgraded its lectern to a state-of-the-art model. It features two buttons, as illustrated below, enabling speakers to adjust the lectern’s height. The microphones have also been modernised allowing podium speakers to deliver their presentations without the necessity of a lavalier microphone. Slides will be displayed full screen on the lectern display.
Logitech Digital Presentation Device
The Logitech presentation device has been utilized effectively for several years, demonstrating reliability and enhancing the educational experience by capturing highlighted areas on the screen during recordings. This device integrates seamlessly with the Mac-operated software displaying the presenter’s slides. Consequently, we advise against the use of personal laptops connected to the lectern.

Either Point To The Lectern Screen - Better For audience Connection - Less Neck Strain !

Alternatively- Point To The Projected Screen - Either Method Works - Use As Desired

Throwable Microphone For Audience
The Catchbox is designed to be "thrown" around a room to make Q&A sessions more engaging. Using it effectively involves a quick setup of the internal transmitter and a bit of "tossing etiquette." The magic of Catchbox is the Automute technology, which senses motion and cuts the audio while the box is in the air so the audience doesn't hear a "thump" when it's caught. Attendees will speak directly into the black foam circle on the top of the cube. The Catchbox will be held about 20cm (8 inches) from the user's mouth.
Adhere to Designated Time Slots
Speakers are required to adhere to their respective time slots. This is crucial for several reasons:
1. To ensure sponsors receive the interactions promised at various break slots.
2. The venue also employs an external catering team to provide functions at specific timings.
3. The audience has expectations that times are adhered to.
4. Speakers following your speech may have external commitments.
5. The AV team has an early start and is present throughout each day’s proceedings. It is important they receive their respective breaks.
6. It is imperative that each day’s event concludes on time to avoid conflict with the Wellcome Collection events schedule.
7. If a speaker exceeds their allocated time a designated faculty member will intervene to ensure cut-off times are adhered to.
Speakers Report To Dale Room
The Dale Room serves as our registration area located on Level -1. Please collect your badge and proceed to the AV booth for final checks. We intend to conduct brief interviews with speakers to promote our 2027 event. Kindly allocate five minutes for a short discussion on your background and teaching methods in Cardiothoracic Surgery. Access our Wetransfer download pack below, which includes the event schedule, floor maps, venue map, and other useful PDF documents.
